Redwood: Export and Add Lines with Excel Spreadsheet

Export negotiation lines to MS Excel, and use the same file to add, update, or delete lines. The new Excel template allows you to easily import and validate lines when creating a draft negotiation. Click on the download icon above the lines table to export the preformatted lines spreadsheet. In the downloaded .xls spreadsheet, you can then enter lines in the table and import them into the draft negotiation. The system validates the line data and highlights any errors during import.

Add, Update, and Delete Negotiation Lines using Spreadsheet

Redwood offers a new improved and simplified excel spreadsheet to export lines from a draft negotiations. You can add, update, or delete lines in draft negotiations and amendments in this simplified format, unlike the (.txt) format file available in the classic application. The .txt based template from classic application can also be imported in Redwood.

Steps to Enable

To access this feature, you must enable the following profile options. By default, these profile options are disabled:

  1. Redwood Pages for Sourcing Enabled (ORA_PON_SOURCING_REDWOOD_ENABLED). If this profile option was already enabled in a prior release, you don't need to enable it again.
  2. Redwood Page to Create Negotiation Enabled (ORA_PON_CREATE_NEGOTIATION_REDWOOD_ENABLED)

To enable the profile options, follow these steps:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search and select the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
  2. On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the profile option name or code.
  3. Set the Profile Value to Y.
  4. Click Save and Close. Changes in the profile value will affect users the next time they sign in.

Tips And Considerations

  1. Unlike in the classic application, exporting lines in Excel is supported for both draft negotiations and amendments.
  2.  Line groups and lots aren't supported in Redwood in update 25D, but are planned for a feature release. If included in the spreadsheet, they won’t appear in the UI. This functionality remains available in the classic application.
  3. The lines import template in .txt format from the classic application can be imported in the Redwood application as well.
  4. Use date, time, and price formats that match your user preferences to avoid formatting errors.
