Redwood: Manage Dimension Catalogs Using a New User Experience
You can use the Redwood user experience to view, create, modify, duplicate, or delete a dimension catalog. With this capability, you can define which dimensions, hierarchies, levels, and attributes are available for planning and analytics.
In the Redwood work area named Supply Chain Planning, click More Actions > View More to open the Actions drawer, and then click Dimension Catalogs in the Configuration section.
The Dimension Catalogs page will open on a new web browser tab and display a list of dimension catalogs.

You can use the search bar to search for dimension catalogs by name or description.
The Dimension Catalogs page includes seven columns:
- Name: Provides the name of the dimension catalog.
- Description: Provides the description of the dimension catalog.
- Status: Indicates how many plans the dimension catalog is assigned to, or if it’s unassigned.
- Default: Indicates if the dimension catalog is the default and automatically selected in the Dimension Catalog field on the General tab in the Plan definition step of the guided process for creating a plan.
- Last Updated By: Provides the name of the user who created or last updated the dimension catalog.
- Last Updated Date: Provides the date when the dimension catalog was last updated.
- Actions: Provides icons for editing, duplicating, or deleting the dimension catalog.
Create a Dimension Catalog
You can create a dimension catalog by clicking the Create icon to open the drawer named New dimension catalog.

On the General tab, you need to enter a name for the dimension catalog. You can optionally provide a description and select the Default checkbox.
On the Hierarchies tab, you must select at least one hierarchy to be able to save the new dimension catalog.

If you selected one or more hierarchies for the Product dimension on the Hierarchies tab, then, on the Defaults tab, in the Product Hierarchies field, you can optionally select the Product dimension hierarchy that’s automatically selected on the Hierarchies subtab on the Data tab in the New visualization drawer when a table or graph is created for a plan that contains the dimension catalog.
If you selected one or more hierarchies for the Time dimension on the Hierarchies tab, then, on the Defaults tab, in the Manufacturing Calendar field, you can optionally select the Time dimension hierarchy that’s automatically selected on the Hierarchies subtab on the Data tab in the New visualization drawer when a table or graph is created for a plan that contains the dimension catalog.

Edit a Dimension Catalog
To edit a dimension catalog, select it, and click the Edit icon in the Actions column. A drawer will open with the details of the dimension catalog.
If you have view privileges, you can only view the dimension catalog details. If you have edit privileges, you can edit the dimension catalog.
On the General tab, you can change the name and description and mark the dimension catalog as the default one. In that case, the Default checkbox is cleared for the dimension catalog that was previously selected as the default.
On the Hierarchies tab, you can modify the selected hierarchies for the dimension catalog.
On the Defaults tab, you can change the selections for the Product and Time dimension hierarchies in the Product Hierarchies and Manufacturing Calendar fields.
Duplicate a Dimension Catalog
To duplicate a dimension catalog, select it, and click the Duplicate icon in the Actions drawer.
In the drawer named Duplicate dimension catalog, provide the information for the new dimension catalog, and click Duplicate. A confirmation message is displayed when the dimension catalog is created.

Delete a Dimension Catalog
To delete a dimension catalog, select it, and click the Delete icon. In the warning message, click Delete. A confirmation message is displayed when the dimension catalog is deleted.

If any errors or warnings occur, they will be displayed at the top of the page.
You can’t delete the dimension catalog in these cases:
- The dimension catalog is assigned to plans. You first need to remove the dimension catalog from the plans before you can delete the dimension catalog.
- The dimension catalog is predefined.
- The dimension catalog is the default. If the dimension catalog is user-defined, you need to clear the Default checkbox before you can delete the dimension catalog.

If you want to use the Redwood: Manage Dimension Catalogs Using a New User Experience feature, then you must opt in to its parent feature: Replenishment Planning. If you’ve already opted in to this parent feature, then you don’t have to opt in again.

- Edit Planning Analytics Configuration (MSC_EDIT_PLANNING_ANALYTICS_CONFIGURATION_PRIV)
- View Planning Analytics Configuration (MSC_VIEW_PLANNING_ANALYTICS_CONFIGURATION_PRIV)
