Define a Production Line Calendar for Flow Schedule Execution

In hybrid environments, using the same production calendar for discrete, process, and flow manufacturing and maintenance activities can create challenges when different shift patterns are needed to accurately reflect actual resource capacity and availability. You can now model a different shift pattern for a specific production line by assigning a calendar that is used for flow schedule execution. This setup determines the available hours and is used in conjunction with the line rate to facilitate flow scheduling.

REST API Changes:

You can view or associate a calendar to a production line using the Production Lines REST API.

This differentiation and flexibility with production calendars improves scheduling accuracy, resource utilization, and operational efficiency across mixed-mode manufacturing and maintenance environments.

Steps to Enable and Configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

  • If no calendar is associated to a production line, then the plant level calendar is used for flow scheduling.
  • Use this feature in conjunction with another 26A feature: Sequence Flow Schedules for a Production Line Using the Scheduling Strategy Defined in Production Scheduling.
