Redwood: Use Electronic Signatures and Electronic Records When Reporting Orderless Transactions
When lean manufacturers are also in a regulated industry, they require efficient production reporting without the administrative tasks associated with work order management in addition to secure, auditable production records to ensure regulatory compliance. You can now capture inline electronic signatures and automatically generate compliant electronic records when reporting orderless transactions using the Redwood user experience.
With this feature you can:
- Report orderless transactions with an inline approval using electronic signatures and approval comments.
- You can approve or reject the transaction, or refresh the page to view inline approval statuses.
- View the electronic record template to review the transaction before approval.
- See the approval history of the transaction.

E-signature and e-record support for orderless transactions aids the regulatory compliance documentation required for the manufacture of products in regulated industries.
Steps to Enable and Configure
You must enable the feature, Redwood: Report Orderless Transactions Using a New User Experience.
Follow these steps to enable or disable the option:
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
- On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the ORA_WIE_ORDERLESS_TRANSACTIONS_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option code.
- In the Profile Values section, set the Site level to Y or N. The default value of the profile option is N.
- Y = Enables the feature.
- N = Disables the feature.
- Click Save and Close. Changes in the profile value will affect users the next time they sign in.
Tips And Considerations
- The orderless transactions are available as an inline approval and must be approved or rejected without the option to defer it.
- The electronic signature approval is supported only through the user interface. Electronic signature approval is not supported using REST API, FBDI, and ADFdi.

Manufacturing Privileges
- Report Orderless Transactions (WIP_REPORT_ORDERLESS_TRANSACTIONS_PRIV) allows review and reporting of orderless transactions.
- Report Scrap Transactions (WIP_REPORT_SCRAP_TRANSACTIONS_PRIV) allows review and reporting of work order scrap transactions.
These privileges were available prior to this update.
