Fusion Attachments Configuration Simplified

Release 26A of Oracle Fusion Field Service streamlines attachment configuration. When you use Fusion attachments, you no longer need to create or maintain application authentication for Fusion API access. Files added in Oracle Fusion Field Service are transferred to Fusion work orders, and files added to Fusion work orders are transferred back, without additional authentication.

How it works

  • When you select the Fusion attachments option, the Application field no longer appears on the Attachments page or on forms enabled for PDF generation.
  • Select a Fusion business object and an attachment category to ensure the application associates each file with the correct work order and category during exchange.
  • The application displays the name of the user who performed the action on each attachment, using the user assertion flow.

Business Benefits

  • Reduces configuration effort required to enable attachments integration between Oracle Fusion Field Service and Fusion.
  • Improves operational efficiency and reduces administrative overhead.

Steps to Enable and Configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

Application configuration is still required in the following cases:

  • Uploading files to OCI Object Storage
  • For all types of attachments in Oracle Field Service environments

In these scenarios, application authentication to the relevant APIs remains necessary because OCI Object Storage or the Fusion environment is treated as an external application. Provide all required application credentials and details for successful connectivity.

Access Requirements

To work with attachments successfully, users must be assigned the following roles:

  • ORA_MNT_MAINTENANCE_MANAGER_JOB for Maintenance Work Orders
  • ORA_SVC_CUSTOMER_SERVICE_MANAGER_JOB for Service Work Orders
