One of your ideas has been delivered from your suggestion.Configurable Scalar Start Date Alignment for Initial Bills

You can now configure the system to align a usage request's scalar start date with the interval start date for an initial bill, under certain conditions, ensuring the billing period does not start a day early. The Scalar Start Date Option on the Billing Configuration master configuration lets you decide how the scalar start date should be set for initial bills:

  • Bill Segment Start Date (Default) - current behavior
  • Consumption Start Date - opt-in behavior

Selecting Consumption Start Date aligns the scalar start date with the interval/consumption start date and only applies when:

  • The SA Type's Initial Start Date Option is set to "Add 1 Day Always" or "Add 1 Day For Back-to-Back".
  • The SA's Start Day Option is "Current Day".

This improves billing accuracy on initial bills if the scalar billing period starts the day after the bill segment start date.
