Organization/Location Hierarchy Tree
The Organization/Location Hierarchy tree is an alternative to the existing Location Hierarchy tree for navigating organization and location hierarchies. It displays a manageable number of child nodes at a time and allows you to load additional records as needed.
The existing Location Hierarchy tree continues to display by default. You can display the Organization/Location Hierarchy tree in the Asset Location, Out of Service Location, and Organization Tree View tabs when a more controlled hierarchy view is needed. To use the new tree, update the applicable portal configuration to display the Organization/Location Hierarchy tree instead of the existing Location Hierarchy tree. The tree automatically expands the path from the top-level organization or location to the selected record. For each expanded node on this path, the tree displays up to the configured number of child nodes. Any sibling nodes displayed remain collapsed. You can expand a sibling or another node as needed. When you expand a node, the tree displays up to the configured number of its child nodes and provides Load next when additional children are available. The default child-node limit is 25 and can be changed using Child Node Limit Override in Asset Search Master configuration. Up to 750 organization or location records can be loaded at one time.
This feature enables more controlled navigation of complex organization and location hierarchies by displaying a manageable number of child nodes at a time, reducing visual complexity and allowing you to focus on the relevant parts of the hierarchy.
Steps to enable and configure
To enable this feature, update the applicable Tree View portal configuration to replace the existing Location Hierarchy tree.
Tips and considerations
The default child-node limit is 25. You can override this value using the Child Node Limit Override field in the Organization/Location Tree section of Asset Search Master configuration. If the 750-record limit is reached, reload the page or navigate to another organization or location to return the tree to its default expanded view.
