Participant Goals and Oracle Sales Planning Cloud

Use the Sales Planning Incentive Performance Measures and Participants export to send data to Sales Planning. Use the Participant Goals import to receive targets or quotas from Sales Planning.

You have many tools to generate a synchronization of goals or quotas with Sales Planning. This topic covers a few of the available options. You use three primary tasks:

  1. Generate Incentive Compensation information to send to Sales Planning.
  2. Load planned targets from Sales Planning to Incentive Compensation.
  3. Manage the load of data between the two applications.

Export from Incentive Compensation

To plan quotas in Sales Planning, you need participants and performance measures from Incentive Compensation. Use the export Sales Planning Incentive Performance Measures and Participants found in Export Management. You can select your required attributes and provide the data in a format that is easily consumed by Sales Planning/

Include enough information to be able to later complete the round trip and send goal targets back to Incentive Compensation. Here are suggested minimum fields:

  • Business Unit
  • Period
  • Participant Identifying Information such as Party Number, Participant ID, or Participant Name
  • Measure Name or Identifier

Use filtering to select a specific set of performance measures and participants. Filters can be saved and referenced later by users or automated integrations.

Send Targets from Sales Planning

You can set targets in Sales Planning and then send them to Incentive Compensation in a variety of ways. Import targets using the Incentive Participant Goals import. Include the minimum fields in order for the import to be successful. See Import Your Incentive Participant Goal Data.
Note: If you're setting goals for a performance measure that's used in multiple plan components or plans, consider setting the Update all occurrences option to Yes so your targets will automatically be loaded for each instance. Else you must specify the compensation plan and plan component to assign the targets to in your import file.

Manage Data Loads Between the Applications

Depending on your needs there are several ways to orchestrate the data transfer. Both applications allow for file-based import and export. This can be done manually or systematically using Sales Planning’s integration tools.

Sales Planning offers several tools to configure systematic transfers. These tools also allow for creation of mappings and some transformation rules.

Securing Your salaes Planning Cloud Experience

Sales Planning and Incentive Compensation share separate security models. So when configuring your sync to sales planning, consider how you want to control access across different users and groups who can view the Incentive Compensation data you send to Sales Planning.
