How can I defer replicating records during reindexing?

You can configure how Adaptive Search indexes custom search records using the Advanced subtab from the Parameters tab available in the Adaptive Search setup page. For example, for custom objects, you might want to defer re-indexing of previously created records when running a partial publish indexing process.

Note: You must have the ZCA_ADAPTIVE_SEARCH_EDIT_PARAMS_PRIV privilege to view and access the Advanced parameters of Adaptive Search. Once you are assigned this privilege, you can also view other parameters such as

You can choose to change current and default advanced parameter values if you have the required privilege. Here's how to edit the Defer Replica Creation During Reindexing Adaptive Search parameters for your custom business object.

  1. Click Navigator > My Enterprise > Setup and Maintenance.

  2. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to:

    • Offering: Sales

    • Functional Area: Sales Foundation

    • Task: Configure Adaptive Search

  3. On the Configure Adaptive Search page, click the Parameters > Advanced tab.

  4. Highlight the Defer Replica Creation During Reindexing that you want to change and click Edit. This warning is displayed.

    You're about to change parameters that control how Adaptive Search works. 
    Changes should only be carried out by search setup experts. Do you want to 
    continue?

  5. Click Yes.

  6. In the Current Value field, change the value from No (default value) to Yes and click Save and Close.

The next time you perform a partial publish, only a reindexing of the custom object occurs and takes less time to complete.
