Curriculum Tags

Use curriculum tag and tag value combinations to influence what happens in student self-service pages.

Access the Manage Curriculum Tags page: From Student Central, click Search and search for Manage Curriculum Tags.

Use these tags so that guests and students can easily search for courses and programs:

  • Area of Study, with a context of Search.

  • Featured Catalog, with a context of Marketing.

If you don't use these tags, guests and students can search for courses and programs, but using only the keyword search.

Area of Study Tag

On the Browse Catalog self-service page, courses and programs display by area of study. The display is based on the tag values, such as Architecture and Business, that you add to the Area of Study tag. You must attach the Area of Study tag to courses and programs to ensure that guests and students can browse for them.

Featured Catalog Tag

On the student home page, courses and programs display by the Popular and New tag values that are predefined for the Featured Catalog tag. You can change the tag value names. For example, change Popular to Trending. You must attach the Featured Catalog tag to courses and programs to ensure that they display in the student home page.

Self-Service Display

Programs, courses, tags, and tag values must be active to display in self-service pages. Select the Use Display Order check box and enter a number in the Display Order field to assign the order in which tag values are displayed. If the check box is deselected, tag values display in alphabetic order.

Rapid Implementation

You can also create and load curriculum tags using the Rapid Implementation process. Use these tasks in the Setup and Maintenance work area, Student Management offering:
