Create an Intersubinventory Transfer Order

This example shows how to create a transfer order for an intersubinventory transfer. The required steps through Oracle Inventory Management, Supply Chain Orchestration, Shipping, and Receiving are shown.

Note: You can't perform return transactions for an intraorganization transfer order.

Complete the following setups prior to creating a transfer order for an intersubinventory transfer:

  • Set up locations on the Manage Locations page. Define the location for the source and destination subinventories.

  • Set up destination subinventory parameters on the Manage Subinventories page.

  • Set up source subinventory parameters on the Manage Subinventories page.

  • Set up intersubinventory parameters on the Manage Intersubinventory Parameters page.

  • Define transit times between source and destination subinventory locations on the Manage Transit Times page.

  • Determine the Enforce Shipping Method parameter on the Manage Shipping Parameters page.

The process flow for this example proceeds through these applications:

  • Inventory Management

  • Supply Chain Orchestration

  • Shipping

  • Receiving

  • Inventory Management

Inventory Management

  1. From the Inventory Management work area, select Manage Item Quantities from the task panel.

  2. On the Manage Item Quantities page, search for and select the item that you want to transfer.

  3. Select Request Transfer Order from the Actions menu.

  4. On the Supply Request page, enter values for the Requested Quantity and Requested Delivery Date fields.

  5. Select the Supply Details icon.

  6. In the Supply Details pop up window, provide supply information such as destination type, destination subinventory, source organization, and source subinventory.

  7. Click OK in the Supply Details pop up window. This takes you back to the Create Supply Request page.

  8. On the Create Supply Request page, click Submit. A supply request reference number is generated.

  9. Click OK.

Supply Chain Orchestration

  1. From the Supply Orchestration work area, select the Manage Supply Lines task.

  2. On the Mange Supply Lines page, search with your supply request number.

  3. Click the supply order number link to open the supply order and access the Supply Order Details page.

  4. Select your supply line and click the Transfer tab in the Line Details section of the page.

  5. View the transfer order number created for the supply order in the Document Number column.

  6. Click Done.

Shipping

  1. From the Inventory Management work area, select Shipments in the Show Tasks field of the task panel. Then, select Manage Shipment Lines.

  2. On the Manage Shipment Lines page, enter the transfer order number that you viewed on the Supply Order Details page in the Order field.

  3. Click the Search button. This takes you to the Edit Shipment Lines page.

  4. Select Pick Release from the Actions menu. You receive a confirmation that a pick release was created for the selected lines.

  5. Click Ok to return to the Edit Shipment Lines page.

  6. Click Cancel to return to the Manage Shipment Lines page.

  7. On the Manage Shipment Lines page, you can see that the Shipment field is now populated for the shipment line.

  8. Select the shipment to open the Edit Shipment page.

  9. In the Lines section of the page, enter a value in the Shipped Quantity field.

  10. Click the Ship Confirm button. You receive a message stating that the shipment was confirmed.

  11. Click Save to return to the Mange Shipment Lines page.

  12. On the Manage Shipment Lines page, you can see that the shipment line now shows a status of Shipped in the Line Status field.

Receiving

  1. From the Inventory Management work area, select Receipts in the Show Tasks field of the task panel. Then, select Receive Expected Shipments.

  2. On the Receive Expected Shipments page, enter your transfer order number in the Transfer Order field and click Search.

  3. Select your transfer order line and click the Receive button to access the Receive Lines page.

  4. Enter the values for the Quantity and Subinventory fields.

  5. Click the Create Receipt button.

  6. On the Create Receipt page, click the Submit button. A confirmation message displays with your receipt number.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Click Done.

  9. From the Inventory Management work area, select the Put Away Receipts task.

  10. On the Put Away Receipts page, enter your receipt number in the Receipt field and click Search.

  11. Select your receipt line and click the Put Away button to access the Put Away Lines page.

  12. On the Put Away Lines page, enter a subinventory and click Submit to create your put away transaction. A message confirms the creation of the put away transaction.

  13. Click OK to return to the Put Away Receipts page.

  14. Click Done.

Inventory Management

  1. From the Inventory Management work area, select Inventory in the Show Tasks field of the task panel. Then, select Review Completed Transactions.

  2. You can search for and view your completed transaction.
