Product Proposals

A product proposal represents the business plan for a proposed new concept, new product, sustaining product or a product to be phased out. The product proposal contains financial information such as cost and revenue of the product.

It also contains milestone and resource data that represents execution details.

Use the General Information tab of a proposal to enter basic information about the proposal. You can enter a name and a description for the proposal, and associate the proposal to one or more portfolios. To define a complete proposal, add details about financial performance, product milestones, and other useful information. As an administrator, use Application Composer to configure each section of your proposal, adding additional attributes as necessary.

Use the side tab on product proposals to add comments, and view all comments for a proposal. You can add comments to a proposal, independent of the status it's in; even if the proposal is in the read-only mode. Add comments for any status of a proposal and track them by time and date and also set a comment as Open or Closed. You can also track them by the unique numbers on the General Information page. These numbers are assigned automatically to proposals and concepts only if your administrator has configured the number generation method for concepts class. You can search for a proposal by Proposal Type, Number, Proposal, Description, and Portfolio.

On a daily basis, multiple proposals are created globally and in various currencies. The Proposal Conversion Rate to US Dollar attribute enables aggregation of costs and revenue in US dollars and lets you factor the conversion rate into reports and analytics.
