How to Get Ready for Buyer Planning

To use the Buyer Planning work area, you need the latest replenishment plan recommendation data. For that, you run the Prepare Plan for Buyer Planning process.

What You Need Details How To Do
The buy orders data from replenishment plan recommendations Run the Prepare Plan for Buyer Planning scheduled process to get the data. Points to remember before running the process:
  • Run the process only after confirming that the plan output meets expectations and planning recommendations are ready to be released.
  • Rerun the process if you have rerun a plan. Otherwise, the orders displayed in Buyer Planning won't reflect the latest plan output.
Note: You won’t see replenishment plan recommendations on Buyer Planning when:
  • The plan is released from Replenishment Planning and the run is in progress.
  • The plan run has failed.
  • The plan is deleted.
There are several ways you can run the process:
  • Automatically, by selecting the Prepare for Buyer Planning check box in the Run Plan dialog.
  • By selecting the View Buyer Planning action from page-level Actions menu within a replenishment plan.
  • Directly from Buyer Planning. The application checks to see if the plan data has changed since the Prepare Plan for Buyer Planning scheduled process was last run and shows a message if it needs to be run again. Select the link to submit the Prepare Plan for Buyer Planning scheduled process for rerun.
Participating Suppliers Though replenishment plan recommendations have the supplier information, you need to add participating suppliers to the Buyer Planning work area. The Updated Projected Available Balances measure The data from the Updated Projected Available Balances measure help you assess the impact of changes you made to the planned orders for the inventory. You need to add this measure to the measure catalog of a replenishment plan. See the Add Updated Projected Available Balances Measure topic.
