You need to create and activate a messaging provider that will be used for
communicating with candidates using the text assistant.
If you already have an active SMS provider with SMS communication enabled, and you
edit the provider to enable agent communication, the SMS communication will be
disabled. You’ll then need to enter the text assistant threshold limits and
re-enable SMS communication.
Please ensure that SMS configurations are different for each pod—production and other
test pods.
-
In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to:
-
Offering: Recruiting and Candidate
Experience
-
Functional Area: Recruiting and Candidate
Experience Management
-
Task: Recruiting Messaging Configuration
-
On the Recruiting Messaging Configuration page, in the SMS Messaging
Providers section, select Add.
-
Enter a name and description.
-
Select a provider.
-
Enter the maximum limit for a message length, in number of characters.
The Body parameter includes the full text of the message you want to send.
For Twilio, it's limited to 1600 characters. Based on your business needs,
you can set the message length limit to 1600 characters or less.
-
Select Enable two-way SMS communications to allow
candidates to reply to SMS messages.
-
Select Enable the candidate text assistant if you want
the text assistant to automatically respond to candidate SMS messages.
When you do this, you’ll see two tabs displayed, where you can define the
details for two SMS channels: The Hiring Team
Messages tab is for the first channel that's used for SMS
messages sent by the recruiting team. The Automated and Text
Assistant Messages tab is for the second channel that's used
for automated messages and text assistant responses.
-
Enter info in the Request Details,
Authentication, Headers, and
Body sections for the selected service provider in
both tabs.
For more information on entering info for the Twilio and Syniverse service
providers, see the document Examples of Adding SMS Providers for the
Text Assistant on My Oracle Support (KB38155).
Note:
-
For processing outbound messages, the SMS messaging
provider's API is expected to return the response in JSON
format. To ensure smooth processing of these messages, we
recommend that you include the Accept header in the
Headers section and specify its value as
application/json.
-
Select Test Outbound Message to send a test message and
make sure that the configuration is properly done.
-
You need to test the outbound message for each channel type, hiring team and
agent messages.
In the SMS Message Info section, enter the phone
number for each channel and select the channel type.
-
Save and close the page once the test is successful.
