Get WhatsApp Template Statuses

When Webhook is set up, the WhatsApp template statuses are automatically updated and reflected on the WhatsApp Message Template page. When it isn't set up, use the Get WhatsApp Template Statuses button to track the latest approval status of templates and sync their statuses with Meta statuses periodically. If you use Twilio as your service provider, always use this button as the template statuses won't be automatically refreshed otherwise.

If you don’t perform this task, the templates that are sent for approval will display the Pending Approval status or an incorrect Active status, even if the template is suspended.

After you select the Get WhatsApp Template Statuses button, it might take a while to see the updated statuses on the WhatsApp Message Template page. After the process is completed, the statuses will be automatically updated.

To view the approval status of a translation, select the template and select View Translations on the Actions menu (shown as three dots). You’ll see the approval status in the Template translations drawer panel.

Meta might change some WhatsApp message categories (from Marketing to Utility or Authentication, for example) based on their evaluation. The updated categories will also be visible when you select this button.
