Create skill recommendations

You can create skill recommendations that use generative AI and recommendations that don't use generative AI.

A Learning license isn't required for Recommendation Profiles. If the quick action isn't available, use the Manage Recommendation Profiles by Administrator and View and Respond to Recommendations by Administrator privileges. To enable the relevant audience type selections, optionally grant these functional privileges: Recommend by Manager Hierarchy, Recommend by HR Job, Recommend by Position, and Recommend by Learning User Group.
  1. Set the Site value for ORA_HRT_SKILLS_CENTER_SUGGESTIONS to Next Generation.
  2. Go to My Client Groups > Show More and open the Recommendation Profiles app.
  3. Add a recommendation profile.
  4. Enter a name and summary for the recommendation job.
  5. In Profile Type, select Identify Objectives Automatically.
  6. In Recommendations to Create, select the skill recommendation types that you want to show in the skill river:
    • Skills popular in the current role
    • Skills popular in careers of interest
    • Skills popular with the manager and peers
    • Skills based on nonskill attributes in the talent profile. This type uses an AI semantic similarity match.
    • Skills similar to skills in the talent profile. This type uses an AI semantic similarity match.
    • Skills based on current role gaps
  7. In Recipient Info, select Recommend As. Although this value isn't currently displayed for skill recommendations, it's a required field. Use the most appropriate value. The lookup value code for this is ORA_WLF_RECOM_ATTR_LOOKUP.
  8. In Processing Rule, decide whether to run the job once or on a recurring schedule.
Note: We support setting a priority for these jobs. For details, see Using priority with recommendation profiles.
  9. For Audience, define the users who receive the recommendations.
  10. Select Submit to start processing.
