Managing Artifact Labels in Task Manager
Administrators can enter translated labels in different languages for artifact properties like a Task’s Name or description using the Artifact Labels page. These labels will be displayed to users based on their language preference. If an Artifact Label hasn't been entered for the user’s preferred language, then the original label entered in the artifact property, or default artifact label, is shown.
Note:
- You must have the Task Manager - Artifacts – Manage role to access the Artifact Labels. Additionally, the Enable Artifact Labels option must be enabled. For more information, see Enabling Artifact Labels .
- The Artifact Labels list is automatically updated during the nightly maintenance
window. Newly created artifacts appear within the Artifact Labels list after the
nightly maintenance window has completed.
Artifacts that have the exact label for a property appear only once within the listing. For example, a task named "Task 1" appears in multiple monthly schedules. The Artifact Labels list shows only one entry for a Task with the Name - "Task 1" and shares all entered language labels.
Editing an artifact property, such as renaming a task, creates a new entry within the artifact label list, which requires new language labels to be entered.
Deleted artifacts are removed from the Artifact Label list when all instances of the artifact have been removed from the service. For example, all tasks named "Task 1" need to be deleted from all the monthly schedules before it's removed from the artifact label list.
