A Rules of Origins Rule Type groups different kinds of Rules of Origins under a particular type. These rule types are the different ways that qualification can be determined. Examples are Regional Value Content, Tariff Shift, HS Exclusion, or HS Inclusion.

Adding a Rules of Origin Rule Type

  1. Enter a unique identifier in the Rules of Origin Rule Type ID field.
  2. Enter a short name for the rule type in the Short Name field.
  3. Enter the complete name of the rule type in the Name field.
  4. Enter the code that is used to refer to the rule type externally in the External Reference Code field.
  5. Enter a formula expression in the Formula ID field to associate a formula with the rule type. Qualification for a trade agreement will be based on this formula.
