Rules of Origin Rule Codes

This page is accessed via Master Data > Power Data > Rules of Origins > Rules of Origin Rule Codes.

Use this page to create new rule codes for Rules of Origins, or to lookup the existing ones.

This is the detailed information that is used to determine if an item qualifies for a trade agreement. A rule code has the Rules of Origin Rule Type (Tariff Shirt, Regional Value Content, etc.) specified. It also has details like if it's based on certain classification codes, if there is a percentage, if it's greater than or less than that percentage, etc. All of this together goes into the calculation that will be done to determine if an item qualifies for a preferential trade.

Adding a Rules of Origin Rule Code

  1. Enter a unique identifier in the Rules of Origin Rule Code ID field.
  2. Enter an ID in the Rules of Origin Rule Type ID field to associate a type of Rules of Origin to this rule code.
  3. Enter an ID in the Rules of Origin ID field to associate Rules of Origin to this rule code.
  4. Select a domain in which the rule code will be active from the Domain Name drop-down list.
  5. Enter a short name for the rule code in the Short Name field.
  6. Enter the complete name of the rule code in the Name field.
  7. Enter the code that is used to refer to the rule code externally in the External Reference Code field.
  8. Enter product classification codes in the Start Classification Code and End Classification Code fields. The rule code will be applied to the products having the codes mentioned in these fields.
  9. Select an option from the Percentage Operator drop-down list.
  10. Enter a number in the Percentage Value field.
  11. In the Description section, do the following:
    1. Enter an ID in the Language ID field.
    2. Enter a description of the rule code in the Text field.
    3. Click Save.
  12. Click Finished.
