Assign Item Classification

This page is accessed via Master Data > Items > Actions > Assign Item Classification.

Use this action to classify items when the product classification code is known.

1. Enter the type of classification in the Product Classification Type field.
2. Enter the classification code in the Product Classification Code field.

Note: Click the Description button to view the description of the code for the product classification type provided, if it exists.

3. Select the purpose of the classification from the Product Classification Purpose drop-down list.
4. Enter a number in the Binding Ruling Number field.
5. Enter the date from when the binding ruling is effective in the Binding Ruling Effective Date field.
6. Enter the date till when the binding ruling is effective in the Binding Ruling Expiration Date field.
7. Enter an ID in the Tariff Rules of Interpretation ID field.
8. Enter any notes in the Classification Notes field.
9. Enter a description in the Customs Description field.
10. Click Assign Item Classification.
