Shipment Management

Out of Gauge

Out of gauge (OOG) refers to equipment or products that are oversized or abnormally sized so do not fit in regular trucks. An OOG cargo is normally carried in Open Top Containers (OT), Flat Racks (FR), Platforms (PL) due to the nature and size of the cargo.

The pictorial representation of the OOG Loading is illustrated above where

  • black dotted outline represents the Width of the Equipment envelope (98.52 IN)
  • red dotted outline represents the OOG envelope (158.52 IN)
  • green box shows the width of the actual cargo
  • and blue arrow represents the OOG dimensions of the actual cargo.

OTM Configuration

  • Add a compartment on an equipment group:  Enter the Widthwise Offset and/or Lengthwise Forward Offset values.
  • Shipment Stop Details: The Out of Gauge (Left), (Right), (Forward) and (Rear) fields show the left width wise out of gauge, right width wise out of gauge, forward width wise out of gauge and rear width wise out of gauge details.
  • Truck Type: Out of gauge dimensions can be calculated based on roof type, trailer type and the Allow Side/Rear Overhang check boxes. When selecting a truck type that does not allow overhang, or an enclosed truck type, no out of gauge calculations will be performed for the shipment.
