Order Management

Create Relay Order Movement

This page is accessed via Order Management > Order Movement > Order Movement > Actions > Order Management > Change Order > Create Relay Order Movement.

This action allows you to take an existing unplanned order movement, divert it to a new location and create a new order movement from that location to the original order movement destination location. For example, you may realize that it will cheaper to send this to a cross-dock and then from there, onto the final destination; so instead of source to destination, you would have source to cross-dock to destination.

This action nulls out the Original Leg and the Original Leg Position is set to 0 regardless of how the Change Order Movement Constraints check box is set. Once that is done, these order movements cannot be bulk planned.

This is similar to the shipment action Relay Shipment in Transit.

Creating a Relay Order Movement

  1. Enter a Relay Location ID.
  2. The Source and Destination Locations display the original locations for the order movement. These are not editable.
  3. The Original Leg field shows the original leg ID for the selected order movement. You can drill down for details.
  4. Select the Reuse Equipment on Relay Order Movement check box if you want the new order movement to share the equipment of the selected order movement.
  5. Select the Change Order Movement Constraints check box if you want to be able to change the constraints on the selected and new order movements. The list of constraints will not appear unless this check box is selected.
  6. The Order Movement 1: Leg Classification ID list displays if you selected the Change Order Movement Constraints check box above. You can select any leg classification ID that exists on the order release for that order movement. The order release leg constraints associated with that leg classification ID is used to replace the constraints on the selected order movement. If no leg classification ID is selected, the constraints will be nulled out.
  7. Order Movement 2: Leg Classification ID is the same as the above but pertains to the new order movement constraints.
  8. Click OK when finished.
