Allocation is a method for dividing the cost of a shipment among its order releases by distributing the cost based on attributes of the items associated with the orders. This generates an accrual.

Define parameters for allocating cost in the Allocation Rule Manager. For example, allocate the shipment cost based on weight, volume, piece count, distance carried, or any combination of attributes. Allocation rules are then assigned to service providers.

You must first define the information on the order base lines or order releases associated with the shipment to perform an allocation based on weight, volume, or piece cost. Distance values must first be defined in Power Data to allocate based on distance.

Using this action, Oracle Transportation Management allocates the shipment planning cost. The planning cost is the estimated cost for the shipment.

Transmit Allocation Information to Order Owners
