Shipment Management

Cyclical Calendar

This page is accessed via Shipment Management > Power Data > Calendar > Calendar Definitions. On the calendar manager page, select the first option button for cyclical calendar.

This page is used to enter activities on a cyclical calendar.

See Activity Definitions for a list of valid activities.

Adding Cyclical Calendars

  1. In the Day field, enter a numeric value for the day in the cycle when a particular activity occurs.
  2. Select a Start Time and an End Time for the calendar. You can establish a calendar for a part of a day or all day. For a 24 hour period of time, select the hour to start and the end time would be one minute before that so 9:00 a.m. to 8:59 a.m. All "From Time" and "To Time" settings are accurate up to minutes, not seconds. Effectively the minutes have zero seconds.

Note: The Start and End Times for each activity period cannot overlap if you are using an activity time factor. For example, Day 1 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. is okay, but the second entry for Day 1 must be 11:01 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., if you have entered a value in the activity time factor field. If setting a calendar midnight to midnight, you need to set it as midnight to 11:59 PM.

  3. The Activity field lists all the activities maintained in Power Data.

Note: If the calendar will be used on an itinerary, you must have an Activity of ACTIVATE.

  4. If you want the activity you selected to occur during the period you defined, select Perform. If you want to exclude the activity you selected from occurring between the start and end time, select Don't Perform. (Do not use Closed).
  5. Use the Activity Time Factor field to affect how long appointments will take at a shipment stop. Fractional activity time factors are rounded to the nearest whole number. For example, the activity time factor of 1.5 is actually rounded down to 1.0 while 1.6 would be rounded up to 2.0.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Finished.

You can specify Override Activities for the calendar.
