Accessorial Default

This page is accessed via Contract and Rate Management > Power Data > Rates and Codes > Accessorial Default.

Use Accessorial Default to define charges that may apply to a shipment. Accessorial services include advancement of charges, pickup, delivery, C.O.D. service, signature service, packing and unpacking, storage-in-transit, etc.

Oracle Transportation Management only applies the accessorial cost of an accessorial default, if that accessorial code ID applies to a shipment and the accessorial cost in the rate offering or rate record for that accessorial code ID is inapplicable. An accessorial cost can be inapplicable, for example, because the calendar has expired.

Note: If you apply an Accessorial Default to a shipment, you must make sure that the Charge Group field in the Accessorial Cost screen is set exactly the same as the Charge Group fields of the Accessorial Cost screens in the Rate Offering and Rate Record that apply to that shipment. If not, then Accessorial Costs are charged more than once. The same is true if the Charge Group field is left blank.

Before you can choose an Accessorial Code ID, you must define it in Power Data. Accessorial Costs are also defined in Power Data.
