Logistics Guide Template

This page is accessed via Contract and Rate Management > Logistics Guide > Logistics Guide Template.

The Logistics Guide Template builds the logistics guide. The template contains information such as the title, origin and destination pairs and the order releases included in the guide.

1. Enter a unique identifier for the template. This can be used to automatically create the title for the results file.
2. Select either Planning or Standard from the Template Type list box to indicate the purpose of this template. If you select Planning, it generates cost information used to guide planning. Different fields display depending on your selection.
3. Optionally, enter a value in the Num Options to Aggregate field. This limits the number of like results for the calculation of the average cost.
4. Select the Save Detailed Records check box to trigger the creation of detail records.
5. In the Output Currency ID field, specify the currency of the aggregate costs.
6. If you selected Standard as the template type:
   1. Enter the Source and Destination Location IDs in the corresponding fields.
   2. Click Save.
   3. Enter the Order Release Template.
   4. Click Save.
7. If you selected Planning as the template type:
   1. Enter the Transport Mode ID.
   2. Enter either a Weight or a Volume or Number of Equipment Reference Units (ERU) in the corresponding field.
   3. If Number of ERUs is used as a quantity break, also enter the Equipment Reference Unit ID field in the page header. The planning parameter CHECK EQUIPMENT CAPACITY IN REFERENCE UNITS should be set to true, when ERU is used as a quantity break to generate cost options for particular lanes.
   4. Click Save.
8. Click Finished.
