Create Work Assignment

This action is accessed via:

• Shipment Management > Shipment Management > Buy Shipments > Actions > Fleet Management > Manage Work Assignment > Create Work Assignment.
• Fleet Management > Resource Management > Resource Schedule Instance > Actions > Create Work Assignment.

Use this action to create a work assignment for the selected shipments. It calculates the costs on the shipments based on the distance on the shipments and empty distances. This action is similar to the Create Work Assignment action on resource schedule instances. That action brings you to this page to finish creating the work order. Creating Work Assignments

1. Enter a Work Assignment ID, if you do not want to have one automatically created by the system.
2. Enter a Resource Schedule Instance ID.

Shipments

The Shipments table shows all of the selected shipments that will be added to the work assignment. If you created the work assignment from a resource schedule instance, you are taken to this page so you can organize the shipment order and recalculate charges.

1. After selecting the option button in front of the shipment, you can change the sequence of the shipments by using the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

Note: Use this property glog.business.shipment.action.createWAInput.sortByStartTime to sort the shipments based on start time of a shipment.

2. After you change the order of the shipments, optionally use the Recalculate button to calculate the changes in distance and duration for the empty portions of the work assignment that occur between shipments. You do not need to click this button as recalculations are done when you click the Create button.
3. Click Create to create the work assignment.
