Force Assign Equipment

This page is accessed via Shipment Manager > Shipment Manager > Buy Shipments > Actions > Fleet Management > Force Assign > Equipment.

Use this action to assign equipment to a shipment regardless of feasibility. For example, using this action will assign the equipment even if it fails the special service rule or the remarks rule or if the service time is infeasible. In this case, the action will finish successfully but will be marked infeasible. Depending on the failure, the infeasibility may change. For example, you make get a remark infeasibility as opposed to a service time infeasibility.

If the shipment has a special service that cannot be ignored, (the Ignorable check box under Planning is not selected), Force Assign will not work. The Ignorable check box is a hard constraint. Special services that are ignorable will be ignored and the Force assign action will run. This action will also ignore the equipment type constraint. This also allows the force assign equipment even if there is no equipment in the available bucket.

There are other instances where Force Assign Equipment may not work such as shipment statuses depending on shipment status, configuration, etc.

Note: This action will function for CLOSED-DETACHABLE shipments, but not for STATIC or DYNAMIC shipments.
