Shipment Management

Link Shipments in a Continuous Move

This action is accessed via any of the following:

  • Shipment Management > Shipment Management > Buy Shipments > Actions > Operational Planning > Manage Continuous Move > Link Shipments
  • Shipment Management > Shipment Management > Sell Shipments > Actions > Operational Planning > Manage Continuous Move > Link Shipments

Select this action to link two or more shipments in a continuous move tour. Shipments must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for a continuous move.

The parameter CM REDRIVE must be set to true.

The property glog.business.continuousMoves.redriveOnlyIfDiffRateService controls whether to redrive shipments while manually linking shipments in a continuous move. When the property is true, OTM will redrive only if the rate service changes. The default is false, OTM will redrive regardless of whether the rate service changes.

  1. You can Override Continuous Movement Rules, which ignores the continuous move rules that generally apply.
  2. Select a shipment in the first column and use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to change the order of the shipments. If the shipments are shaded, they are already part of a continuous move. In that case you can only place a new shipment at the beginning or end of the existing continuous move.
  3. The Default Sort button returns the shipments to their original order.
  4. To preview how the continuous move will look when the shipments are linked, click the Simulate Results button.
  5. To create the continuous move, click the Link Shipments button.

Note: Bulk Plan order releases and Bulk Plan continuous moves do not use the same algorithms. See Bulk Plan Order Release and Bulk Continuous Move.
