A shipment template is pre-populated with pre-defined data, including:

Any shipment can be saved as a shipment template, which allows you to save consistently used data, but prevents any action from being taken on the shipment, such as planning, rating, or tendering. You can then use the shipment template to build subsequent shipments, which reduces data entry time since the common data stored in the template will be pre-populated.
