Decline Tender

This page is accessed via Shipment Management > Shipment Management > Buy Shipments or Sell Shipments > Actions > Shipment Management > Tender > Decline Tender.

A tender is declined when a service provider rejects a tender offer from a planner. You can decline the tender manually on behalf of a service provider.

When a tender is declined, the system performs the following actions:

  • Stops the timer that defines how long the service provider has to respond to the tender.
  • Tenders the shipment to the next higher cost service provider who has not already declined the tender for the shipment. If no other service providers are available, or if the shipment passes the user-defined threshold for how many re-tenders are allowed, the shipment status is changed to SECURE RESOURCES_NO RESOURCES.
  • You can automatically send notifications to involved parties when a shipment tender is declined.
  • If the shipment has an open step tender, the system displays a list of all service providers to whom the step tenders were offered. You can select a service providers who's step tender has been declined. If you are the service provider who is declining the tender, then you can only see the specific tender that was sent to you.
  1. Select the Retender Shipment check box if you want the shipment to be retendered.
  2. Select a Decline Reason Code to indicate why you are declining the tender.
  3. If the Consolidated Notify Only check box is selected on the contact, when the Send Notify Now check box is selected, the notification for only the associated shipment is sent immediately. Other declines that were done earlier, but whose notifications are being delayed because of consolidation, are not sent at that time. If the Consolidated Notify Only check box is NOT selected on the contact, then Send Notify Now is not used as notifcation consolidation is not in place.
  4. To send a report, select the Send Report check box.
  5. Click OK to tender the shipment to another service provider.

Note: No combination equipment groups will be part of the chosen retendering solution.

Oracle Transportation Management tenders the shipment to the next higher cost service provider who has not already declined the tender for the shipment. If no other service providers are available, the shipment status is changed to SECURE RESOURCES_NO RESOURCES. A shipment with a status of NO RESOURCES is not executed and may need to be re-planned.
