Configure Access and Operating Windows

Before using the Command Center, ensure that users have access to the workspace and the permissions required for their tasks.

Provide access and permissions

Assign access to the Warehouse Execution Command Center and the applicable WMS and API permissions.

Inventory availability assessment requires the applicable wave_orderhdr permission.

Prepare the user context

The Fusion user must map to a WMS user through alternate_user_name.

Configure the operating windows

The Command Center uses two facility parameters to determine which upcoming orders to include.

Facility parameter Default Purpose
order_fulfillment_window_hrs 48 hours Defines the broader window for upcoming fulfillment work.
order_risk_window_hrs 8 hours Defines the shorter window for identifying orders approaching their shipment cutoff.

Set these values to reflect your facility’s operating needs. A shorter risk window than fulfillment window is recommended, but is not enforced by the referenced workflows.

These settings control the order populations used in analysis. They do not change the historical periods used for throughput metrics.

Configure explicit facility values

Use the exact WMS facility parameter keys ORDER_RISK_WINDOW_HRS and ORDER_FULFILLMENT_WINDOW_HRS. An 8-hour risk window and a 48-hour fulfillment window are an example configuration. A shorter risk window is recommended for separating urgent work from broader demand; the inspected workflows do not enforce that relationship.

Understand missing parameter values

Do not assume all agents use the same defaults. In the referenced implementation, Wave and Order use 48 hours when the applicable value is missing or blank; malformed or negative values become 0. Picking uses an 8-hour fallback. Replenishment uses 48 hours for missing, blank, nonnumeric, or negative values. Configure explicit numeric values for each operating facility rather than relying on fallback behavior.

Review wave configuration

Review the wave templates and allocation configuration that users will select for inventory availability assessments and wave execution. The selected template’s allocation mode and sequence affect which inventory the assessment considers.

For optional MHE exception-processing configuration and Inventory History fields, see Technical Reference.
