New Features

The following features are new in Oracle Application Express release 19.1:

• New Form Region

  • Support of External Data Sources

    New Form region includes built-in support for the external data source you specify ( Local Database, REST Enabled SQL Service, or Web Source Module).

  • Form Lost Update Detection

    Prevent form users from overwriting one another by configuring the Lost Update Detection.

  • Automaticly Upgrade Legacy Forms to the New Form Region

    Run the Upgrade Application utility to automatically upgrade legacy forms to the new form region.

• New Data Loading Capability When Creating an App from a File

  The data upload functionality in SQL Workshop modernizes the drag & drop user interface and provides support for native Excel, CSV, XML and JSON documents. These same capabilities can be accessed from the Create Application Wizard by selecting the From a File option.

• App Builder Dark Mode

  Turn on Dark Mode to render the Oracle Application Express user interface using an inverted color scheme, applying light-colored text, icons and graphical user interface elements on a darker background.
