1.4.5 Using the Operations Assistant

Use the message input to ask the Operations Assistant. If suggestions are enabled, select an initial or follow-up suggestion. Click Send or press Enter to submit.

Ask Questions

For long-running responses, the assistant polls for up to 120 seconds in the foreground. If a response is pending, users cannot submit another question in the same conversation, and they can cancel pending responses if that action is available. In case the response times out before completion, click Resume for another 120-second foreground polling round to continue checking.

Starting a New Chat

Click New Chat in the Conversations panel to clear the chat view. A server-side conversation is created only after the first request is sent.

Managing Conversations

In Managing Conversations, you can mark a conversation as read or unread. You can export a single conversation from the row-level Export JSON action, or export the active conversation from Menu > Export. Open Menu > Conversations. Recent and Archived show current-user conversations in separate views, each with pinned (up to 20) and normal sections. Search stays within the selected view; Show more conversations loads normal rows. Click a conversation to make it active and writable. From its row action menu, pin/unpin, rename, export JSON, archive/restore, or delete. Reorder pinned conversations by dragging or using Move up/Move down. Delete requires confirmation. Use Collapse conversations or Back to chat to return to the chat view. Use Show more conversations to load earlier messages in the active conversation. If users try to close Settings with unsaved changes, the assistant prompts them to save or revert the changes first.

Providing Feedback

For completed responses, use thumbs up or thumbs down to mark the answer as helpful or not helpful. Select the other option to change feedback, or select the same option again to remove it.
