8.5.4 Loading an Existing Domain

Resource Broker works for existing domains either. Before an existing domain can be deployed with application packages, you need to make sure the following:

The domain is running and has been discovered on Enterprise Manager.

All machines in the domain have Enterprise Manager agent installed and running.

The domain is discovered using the Enterprise Manager agent of master machine, while the tlisten and tuxedo home targets on other slave machines are discovered using the corresponding Enterprise Manager agent of each machine.

Once you confirm the above prerequisites are met, load the existing domain parameters to Domain Editor by the following steps:

1. Refer to Viewing Tuxedo Summary to enter the Tuxedo Summary page.
2. Highlight the domain you want to deploy, click Edit.

   The UBBCONFIG and DMCONFIG parameters are retrieved from Tuxedo domain backend, and then are parsed and filled in the corresponding section in the Domain Editor. Exceptionally, the default value of IPCKEY, DOMAINID, and MASTER in the RESOURCES section of UBBCONFIG editor cannot be changed.

   On the right side, all the machines available for adding to the domain are listed in the Machine List panel. If a machine belongs to the existing domain, the '+' button beside its name is disabled.

   The Package List panel box contains all the Tuxedo application packages. If a package is available to be added to the machines in the domain, its '+' button is enabled.

   ART Batch and ART CICS configuration is not supported on the existing domain. If the original domain has ART Batch or ART CICS system configured, Resource Broker keeps the ART related resources untouched during a full deployment or a dynamic deployment. In that event, you need to provide correct environment variables so as to booting up the system.
