Deployment Prerequisites
In order to deploy Oracle Blockchain Platform Enterprise Edition, you must have the following:
General Prerequisites
- A basic understanding of blockchain concepts and Besu. For more information about Besu, see Besu Ethereum client.
- An Oracle Cloud account:
- Sign up for an Oracle Cloud account: How Do I Sign Up?
- Sign in for the first time: Sign In to Oracle Cloud For the First Time
- Sign in to Oracle Cloud: Oracle Cloud Account
OCI Prerequisites
- Access to an assigned Oracle Cloud tenancy with permissions to create Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) nodes. You must create a compartment in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in your assigned tenancy. See:
- OCI Registry credentials (user name and auth token) with permissions to push container images to the repository.
- Generate an OCIR Auth Token. You can generate this in your OCI My Profile under Auth Tokens, Generate Token. See Getting an Auth Token. To generate a token:
- In the OCI console, select Profile and then select your user account.
- Open Tokens and keys.
- Under Auth tokens, create a token and then copy it and store it securely.
- Determine your OCIR user name, which typically uses the following format:
<tenancy-name>/oracleidentitycloudservice/<username>. For example,acmeinc/oracleidentitycloudservice/dev.user@example.com.
Rich History Database Prerequisites
The rich history database is external to Oracle Blockchain Platform and contains data about the blockchain ledger’s transactions on the channels you select. You use this database to create analytics reports and visualization about your ledger’s activities.
- You must have a MySQL or Oracle Database provisioned and configured for the rich history database.
- You must ensure the database port is open, and add an ingress rule that enables the rich history database to access the database.
Identity Provider Prerequisites
By default, an OpenLDAP server is included and configured for testing purposes.
If you want to use an external identity provider, you need to create a confidential application as described here: User Management with an External Identity Provider.
