2 Deploy Oracle Blockchain Platform Enterprise Edition for Besu

The following steps are a high-level overview of how to deploy Oracle Blockchain Platform Enterprise Edition for Besu.

Provision Blockchain Platform

Use Oracle Cloud Marketplace to provision Blockchain Platform.

  1. Enter information for your Blockchain Platform, OCIR image, and Kubernetes cluster.
  2. Log in to Blockchain Platform Manager.
See Deploy from Oracle Cloud Marketplace.

Configure Your Identity Provider

You can choose to use the built-in OpenLDAP service or use your own identity provider. You can then add users and groups needed by various components. See User Management and Identity Providers .

Rich History Database

You can optionally index blockchain transactions, events, traces, and state in Oracle Database or MySQL. See Create a Rich History Database Configuration.

Configure a Wallet

The Instance or Local Wallet Service provides APIs for querying and transacting on the instance network by using the signing, transaction, query, and broadcast capabilities of the service.

  1. Log in to the Blockchain Platform Manager using the administrator credentials that you provided during installation.
  2. On the Wallet tab, configure the wallets and accounts required by your application.

See Create an Organization and Wallet.

Create an Instance

Use Blockchain Platform Manager to set up your authentication server, create an administrative user, and create your instance.

  1. Log in to the Blockchain Platform Manager using the administrator credentials that you provided during installation.
  2. Set the default identity provider (either OpenLDAP or IDCS).
  3. Add a user with permissions to create instances.
  4. Log in as the new admin user and create an instance.
For complete steps, see Create an Instance.

Provision a Besu Network

After you create an instance, you can open the Oracle Blockchain Platform service console to work with Besu nodes and to explore blocks in the ledger. You can also deploy contracts, create wallets, and send transactions by using the RPC proxy as described in RPC API for Oracle Blockchain Platform Enterprise Edition for Besu.
