Prerequisites for Exadata Warehouse
Before configuring Exadata Warehouse, ensure that the required Enterprise Manager components, target groups, monitoring interfaces, and credentials are configured.
Complete the following prerequisites:
-
Configure the Software Library.
If you are already using Enterprise Manager, the Software Library may already be configured. For information, see Configuring a Software Library in Oracle Enterprise Manager Administrator's Guide.
-
Create a group target.
Create an Enterprise Manager group target that contains the targets for which fine-grained data will be uploaded to Exadata Warehouse. For information, see Creating and Editing Groups in Oracle Enterprise Manager Monitoring Guide.
The group can include Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Exadata Infrastructure, and Recovery Appliance targets licensed under the Exadata Management Pack or Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance Management Pack. For information on enabling and disabling management packs, see Enabling and Disabling Management Packs in Oracle Enterprise Manager in Oracle Enterprise Manager Licensing Information User Manual.
-
Ensure that compute nodes and storage servers are monitored by Enterprise Manager using REST APIs.
If you are not using REST APIs to monitor the Database Machine storage servers and compute nodes, see Switch from Using CellCLI to RESTful API in the Oracle Exadata Database Machine Getting Started Guide.
-
Configure the following credentials for Exadata Warehouse:
-
Monitoring Credentials for the Exadata Storage Server, including REST API credentials.
-
Preferred Credentials for each Engineered System (Database Machine, Recovery Appliance, and Exadata Infrastructure) whose data is uploaded to Exadata Warehouse.
-
Preferred Credentials for each host that has an Agent monitoring the Engineered Systems whose data is uploaded to Exadata Warehouse.
-
Preferred Credentials for the OMS host.
