Errata
Documentation Set Version | Documentation Title | Changes |
---|---|---|
12.4.0.0.0 | Enterprise Manager Ops Center Installation for Oracle Solaris Operating System | Chapter 5, "Installing Proxy Controllers", should also include the following information on proxy creation on Solaris 11: there is a requirement for an Exclusive IP / Interface for NGZ's. Same applies to section "About Using Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center" in the same document. |
12.4.0.0.0 | Enterprise Manager Ops Center Certified Systems Matrix | Section 1.1.2, "Proxy Controller Operating Systems" , should also include the following information on proxy creation on Solaris 11: there is a requirement for an Exclusive IP / Interface for NGZ's. |
12.4.0.0.0 | Enterprise Manager Ops Center Security | Section 2.2.9 Substituting Certificates for the Glassfish Web Container keytool commands are incorrect. Instead of "-storepass password" the commands should read "-storepass:file password", to guide the keytool to use the contents of the file password. |
12.4.0.0.0 | Enterprise Manager Ops Center Security | Section 2.2.9, "Substituting Certificates for the Glassfish Web Container", Step 9 is incomplete. Note the following additions to import the root and chain certificate into a keystore: First, convert a pkcs7 format certificate to a pem format that can be imported directly into a keystore. For example: % openssl pkcs7 -print_certs -in root.pkcs7 -out root.pem_certs pkcs7 format encodes the server/client cert with the CA cert. Once converted to pem, the resulting file will contain multiple BEGIN/END sections, each containing the separate individual certificates. Save the BEGIN/END blocks into separate files. The first block should be the client signed certificate file and the following ones should be the chain and root certificates of the CA. In this example, bui.cert is the client, r2.cert is the CA chain and r3.cert is the CA root. Import them as follows: keytool -importcert -alias your_ca -keystore keystore -file r3.cert -storepass:file password Then, continue with Steps 10-13 as listed in the original document. |
12.4.0.0.0 | Enterprise Manager Ops Center Administration | Chapter 9: Perform Backup and Recovery incorrectly states that an EC backup can be restored to a server with a different hostname.
The host name of the new system should be the same as the old system. You can change the host name of the new system, provided the old host name is added The same chapter also states that the IP Address can be changed as long as it is aliased in /etc/hosts. This is not a supported configuration. The IP address of the new system can be different. If the new system has a different IP address, the restore process includes a step to configure any remote Proxy Controllers to use the new Enterprise Controller IP address. While we do support restoring an EC backup to a new server (new hardware) it is absolutely required that the new server has the hostname and IP of the old EC server. If a new hostname/ip is required then a fresh install will be required for the EC and the data cannot be restored to the new EC from the old. |
12.4.0.0.0 | Enterprise Manager Ops Center Ports and Protocols | Chapter 1.3 Firewall Rules lists Site: "aru-akam-secure.oracle.com", Port "443" as a valid site that Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center uses. This site is no longer valid. Instead, the following two sites can be used: aru-akam.oracle.com on Port 80 download.oracle.com on Port 443 |
12.4.0.0.0 | Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center Configure NAS Libraries | Section "Create a NAS Storage Library", Step 2, states "Click New NAS Software Library in the Actions pane". It should instead read: "Click New NAS Storage Library in the Actions pane." Ignore the screenshot. The two options in the user interface, under "Action" > "Operate", are: "New NAS Storage" and "New Oracle VM Storage Repository" |
12.3.0.0.0 | Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center Managing Incidents | Section "What You Will Need", reads "Enterprise Controller running in connected mode". It should instead read: "Enterprise Controller running in connected or disconnected mode." |
