Release 23.4.6 - F90321-12, March 2025
Fault Recovery Updates
Removed the "Recovering Kubernetes Cluster After Certificate Expiry" section from the document as this procedure is covered as part of the "Renewing Kubernetes Certificates" maintenance procedure documented in Oracle Communications Cloud Native Core, Cloud Native Environment User Guide.
Release 23.4.6 - F90321-11, November 2024
Added the Verifying Terraform Files in VMware Deployments section to provide details about verifying the content of the
compute/main.tf and compute-lbvm/main.tf files
in a VMware deployment after performing an upgrade.

Installation Updates:
- Updated the Configuring PIP Repository section to provide the alternative way to configure PIP repository using CNE provision container when the required Python version is not available.
- Made the following updates in the Common Installation Configuration section:
- Renamed a occne.ini variabe from

Upgrade Updates:
- Updated the upgrade paths in the Supported Upgrade Paths section.
- Made the following updates in the Performing an Upgrade or OS Update section:
- Added a note to state that the procedures that apply to VMware and uses Terraform doesn't operate successfully and cannot be used.
- Added a note to state that OpenStack maintenance
procedures that utilize Terraform to create a new VM will not work
properly if the
cluster.tfvarsimage field is not updated to "ol9u2" after the upgrade. - Updated the command to check the
.repofile and aaded a note to verify the content of the file in Step 3.
Fault Recovery Updates:
Updated the procedure to restore a failed Load Balancer in the Restoring a Failed Load Balancer section.
Release 23.4.4 - F90321-05, April 2024
- Added a note in the Performing an Upgrade or OS Update section to provide details about how to restart the upgrade procedure when the initial cluster test fails and the upgrade script terminates.
- Added a note in the Performing Manual Switchover of LBVMs During Upgrade section to recommend the user to perform the switchover on a single PAP and updated the example accordingly.
Release 23.4.1 - F90321-04, February 2024
- Replaced the missed instances of FluentBit with Fluentd Opensearch in the entire document as FluentBit was replaced with Fluentd OpenSearch in 23.3.0.

- Added a note to update the ILOM firmware in the Bare Metal Installation Prerequisites section.

- Made the following changes in the BareMetal CNE installation procedures:
- Updated the procedure to install Oracle Linux on Bootstrap Host in the Installing Oracle Linux X.x on Bootstrap Host section.
- Updated the steps to configure Host BIOS in the Configuring Host BIOS section.
- Updated the steps to configure top of rack switches in the Configuring Top of Rack 93180YC-EX Switches section.
- Updated the commands and examples in the Configuring Addresses for RMS iLOs section.
- Added the Generating SSH Key on Oracle Servers with Oracle ILOM section to provide the procedures to generate SSH key on Oracle X8-2 or X9-2 servers with Oracle ILOM.
- Updated the Installing Bastion Host section.
- Updated the procedure to perform an automated installation in the Performing Automated Installation section.
- Updated the following OpenStack Installation procedures to capture the changes related to Oracle Linux upgrade:
- Updated the following VMware Installation procedures to capture the changes related to Oracle Linux upgrade:
- Made the following changes to the artifact acquisition and hosting
procedures:
- Updated the procedure to download Oracle Linux in the Downloading Oracle Linux section.
- Updated the steps to configure container image registry in the Configuring Container Image Registry section.
- Updated the steps to configure HTTP repository in the Configuring HTTP Repository section.
- Updated the steps to configure PIP repository in the Configuring PIP Repository section.
- Updated the procedure to configure YUM repository in the Configuring YUM Repository section.
- Made the following changes to the installation reference procedures:
- Updated the Inventory File Preparation section.
- Updated the Installation Preflight Checklist section.
- Updated the postinstallation verification procedures in the Verifying and Configuring Common Services section.
Upgrade Updates
- Added notes in the following sections to state that 23.4.0 doesn't support upgrade from any previous release:
Fault Recovery Updates
- Updated the commands in the following fault recovery procedures:
- Removed the step to modify annotations and delete PV in Kubernetes in the Performing a Cluster Restore From Backup as this step is automated in this release.
General Updates
- Updated the release number to 23.4.0 in the entire document.
- Updated the Oracle Linux version number to X or X.X in the entire document to make the document more generic.
