Test a Source Connection

Test whether ECP Data Bridge can connect to a configured FTP or SFTP source.

Testing a source connection validates the configured IP address, port, and credentials. It does not validate whether the configured source folder exists.
  • Add the source connection.

  • Ensure that the source server is available on the local network.

  • Ensure that the Cloud Connector can reach the configured source IP address and port.

  1. Sign in to the ECP Data Bridge local UI.
  2. Open the Sources page.
  3. Locate the source connection that you want to test.
  4. From the source actions, select Test Connection.
ECP Data Bridge attempts to connect to the source by using the configured protocol, IP address, port, username, password, and, for SFTP, the server fingerprint.
  5. Review the result of the connection test.
  • If the connection succeeds, the source status changes to Connected.

  • If the connection fails, ECP Data Bridge displays an error message and the source status indicates that the source is not connected.

The connection test does not maintain an active connection to the source after the test completes.

If the test fails, verify the following source settings:

  • Protocol

  • IP address

  • Port

  • Username and password

  • SFTP server fingerprint, where applicable

  • Network connectivity between the Cloud Connector and the source

Update the source settings before testing the connection again.

After the connection test succeeds, verify that the configured source folder exists and is accessible.
