Transfer Job and File Statuses
Transfer job and file statuses indicate the progress and outcome of the download and upload stages.
A transfer job includes a download stage and, after a successful download, an upload stage. The status displayed on the Transfer Jobs page identifies the stage currently in progress or the final outcome of the transfer.
Transfer job statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
|
Downloading |
ECP Data Bridge is downloading the selected folder and its contents from the source to local storage. |
|
Uploading |
The download completed successfully, and ECP Data Bridge is uploading the downloaded files to the configured OCI Object Storage bucket. |
|
Completed |
The download and upload stages completed successfully. |
|
Error |
ECP Data Bridge could not complete the current download or upload stage. Review the error information for the transfer job. |
|
Canceled |
The download or upload was canceled before the operation completed. |
While a download or upload is in progress, the transfer job can also display:
-
The percentage completed.
-
The number of files processed and the total number of files.
-
The amount of data processed and the total transfer size.
File statuses
Select the file action for a transfer job to review the status of the individual files included in the transfer.
The Epic defines the following file outcomes:
| File status | Description |
|---|---|
|
Error - Downloading |
The file could not be downloaded successfully from the source. |
|
Error - Uploading |
The file was downloaded but could not be uploaded successfully to OCI Object Storage. |
|
Canceled - Downloading |
The download was canceled before the file completed downloading. |
|
Canceled - Uploading |
The upload was canceled before the file completed uploading. |
|
Completed |
Processing for the file completed successfully. |
Status behavior
The stage in which an error or cancellation occurs determines what happens to the transferred files:
-
If the download fails or is canceled, ECP Data Bridge does not begin the upload stage. Files downloaded before the interruption remain in local storage.
-
If the upload fails or is canceled, objects uploaded before the interruption remain in OCI Object Storage. The complete downloaded dataset remains in local storage unless files are removed through SMB.
-
ECP Data Bridge does not automatically delete partial files from local storage or OCI Object Storage.
-
A failed or canceled download cannot be resumed. Initiate a new transfer to download the selected folder again.
-
An eligible failed or canceled upload can be retried when the complete downloaded dataset remains available in local storage.
