Create and Edit a Storm Event

You can create a Storm Event based on historic outage information. You can then use the Storm Event as a reference to help provide more accurate estimations when you create Storm Models.

Create a Storm Event

  1. Sign into Oracle Utilities Analytics Insights.
  2. Click Explore, Storm and then ERT.
  3. Click Create Storm Event.
  4. On the Create Storm Event page, complete the required fields and click Continue; you can edit this information later if necessary.
    • Name: A distinct name for the Storm Event. For example, you could create a name that contains a month and year, such as Maggie June 2022.
    • Storm Start Date: The date and time when the storm entered the service territory.
    • Storm Cut-Off Date: The date and time after which new outages will be excluded from the Storm Model. This is usually the date and time when the storm left your service territory, but not always. See Storm Cut-Off Date for more information.
    • Exclude Single Customer Outages: Option to exclude any outages that affect a single customer rather than multiple customers simultaneously. It is recommended you select this option if you want to exclude outliers that may skew the results of the Storm Model forecast.
  5. Select one or more zones in your service territory that were affected by the storm.
  6. Click Create Storm Event. This will add the Storm Event to the list of storms on the dashboard and change its state to Historic. Outage information from your connected outage management system should be loaded into the model based on the start date, Cut-Off Date, and zone information you entered.
