What’s New in this Release
This section describes the features and improvements in Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse. The following topics introduce the new and enhanced features of Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse in this release, and other significant changes in the documentation.
Support for Overlapping/Concurrent Storms for Oracle Utilities Network Management System
In Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse V2.8.0.2.0, the Extractors and Schema for Oracle Utilities Network Management System have been enhanced to provide the ability to store information for multiple overlapping/concurrent storms in the star schema. Starting V2.6.0.0.0, Oracle Network Management System provides the ability to store concurrent/overlapping storms (limited to three overlapping storms).
Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse versions prior to 2.8.0.2.0 supported the reporting of one storm only. Starting V2.8.0.2.0, Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse will have two additional keys to store the second and third storm information, thus enabling the reporting of three storms for an outage.
The following star schemas have been modified in V2.8.0.2.0 to incorporate these new storm keys:
Damage Assessment
Damage Assessment Detail
Crew
Recent Crew
Job

Customer Outage

As of V2.8.0.2.0, the Outage Analytics RPD file has been modified to support the reporting of the second and third storms.
Account Dimension Design Changes for Oracle Utilities Network Management System
In Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse V2.8.0.2.0, the Oracle Utilities Extractors and Schema for Oracle Utilities Network Management System have been enhanced to source data from NMS_ACCOUNTS_HISTORY table in the source database for the loading of Account dimension (CD_ACCT). This table stores data at an account level and populating the dimension from this table will ensure the granularity of the dimension is maintained at an Account level. This table has been made available starting Oracle Utilities Network Management System V2.4.0.1.3.
Hence, customers implementing Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse V2.8.0.2.0 with Oracle Utilities Network Management System versions 2.4.0.1.3 and above will now be able to populate the dimension from the NMS_ACCOUNTS_HISTORY table. Customers with Oracle Utilities Network Management System version prior to V2.3.0.2.0 can continue to load the dimension from the CES_CUSTOMERS_HISTORY table.
Refer to the Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse documentation on Oracle Help Center for more details.
Support for Database Time Zone Change to UTC in Oracle Utilities Network Management System
Starting V2.6.0.0.0, Oracle Utilities Network Management System stores data in UTC time zone in the database. The source application can continue to remain in the customer’s time zone. The Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse Extractors and Schema for Oracle Utilities Network Management System have been modified to support this change of the source database’s time zone to UTC, by converting data to customer’s time zone at the time of data load. The Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse installation can thus continue to remain in the customer’s time zone. This change will also support Oracle Utilities Network Management System versions prior to 2.6.0.0.0.
Refer to the Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse documentation on Oracle Help Center for more details.
Support for Char Semantic Database
Starting Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse V2.8.0.2.0, target database can be configured as CHAR semantic. This will help customers in configuring data loads in languages other than English. The existing customers with BYTE semantic configuration can continue to remain with the same configuration.
Removal of Dashboard Components Installation from Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse Installation
Starting Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse V2.8.0.2.0, installation of dashboard components using the Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse installer has been deprecated.
Dashboard components are no longer part of the Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse installer jar and are shipped in a separate package, “Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse 2.8.0.2.0 Dashboard Component.zip”.
For information about installing the dashboard components, refer to Install Dashboards Component section in Oracle Utilities Analytics Warehouse Installation and Configuration Guide.
