Requirements
No customer or utility data is required to generate the Mini Home Energy Analysis module. The only requirement is that the utility must work with Oracle Utilities Opower to launch the Home Energy Analysis survey online so customers can be redirected to it.
User Experience
The image below is an example of one of the questions in the Mini Home Energy Analysis module.
Header: The header notifies the customer that the Mini Home Energy Analysis gives them an opportunity to improve their report experience.
Question: The report cycles through simple Yes or No questions that the customer has not completed in the full Home Energy Analysis survey online.
Benefit Text: The benefit text emphasizes that by replying to the questions the customer improves the accuracy of their report and tips.
Response Option Buttons: The customer can respond yes or no to most module questions. The response button will redirect them to the full Home Energy Analysis survey where they can respond to additional questions.
User Experience Variations
The user experience of the feature may vary for customers depending on which questions have been included and the order in which the questions are presented. The options include:
Retain the default behavior: The questions are selected at random from a predefined list. The first unanswered question from the predefined list is asked first.
Reorder the priority list or remove questions: The utility can work with Oracle Utilities Opower to adjust the list of questions by removing or reordering the questions. The first unanswered question from the updated list is asked first.
Use the Mini Home Energy Analysis as a confirmation module experience: The module can be configured to include a binary question asking the customer to confirm information about their home. For example, a confirmation experience could ask the customer whether or not they use a heat pump to cool or heat their home.
There are two ways to create a confirmation experience:
- More than one question in the list: The question order is modified to start with a binary question. Once the confirmation question is answered, another question from the list will appear in future experiences. When all of the questions in the list are answered, the module will no longer appear in the report.
- One question in the list: The a single confirmation question is configured as the only question to appear in the module. Once the question is answered, the module will not appear in future reports.
