Master Configuration Setup

Configure the Esri WAM Integration Record

Esri WAM Integration master configuration objects dictates the map viewer integration with WAM application

  • Esri Integration On/Off: Determines whether or not the integration is in use within your system. This required value provides a quick way to disable key features of the WAM-Esri integration.
  • One-time Data Conversion: This is not editable. When this value is set to "Convert all Esri data", all GIS features are extracted from Esri and sent to WAM on the next batch run for the Esri Extractor. If set to "Complete", this indicates that data conversion has already occurred and only incremental data changes are extracted from Esri.
  • External System: Identifies the external system for Esri ArcGIS Server.
  • Timeout Threshold Hours: Sets the number of hours after which outbound sync messages should timeout.
  • Default Number of Records in Results Grid: The maximum number of results records displayed in the Asset tab and Work tab in the map viewer, when features are selected.
  • Default Asset Effective Date/Time: the default value to use during creation of Assets in the GIS data sync for the Asset disposition.
  • Map Notes: The name of the map layer which should be considered when the share widget is opened and markups (for example, redlining) are performed in the map viewer.
  • GIS Projected Coordinate Systems: Used to hold the value of projected coordinate system. This is important to ensure the proper coordinate model is used in your map.
  • Default Out of Service Location: When GIS features that were previously synchronized to WAM are deleted in the GIS system, the corresponding assets are retired and moved to this location on the next synchronization of these changes to WAM. The original location of these retired assets is inactivated. In the same way, when GIS features that were previously synchronized to WAM are marked as abandoned in the GIS system, the corresponding assets are retired and moved to this location when the asset type configuration does not allow such assets to be retired in place.
  • Abandoned Asset GIS Field / Value: A GIS feature is considered abandoned if it has the Abandoned GIS Field / Value combination specified in the GIS system. The system assumes the life cycle status or related field / value is already configured in GIS in order to identify abandoned features. The GIS Field and value are the one that marks a GIS feature as abandoned in the GIS system. Note: The system assumes an abandoned GIS feature retains its GIS unique identifier as it remains key to the synchronization process between the systems.
  • Work Location Business Object: Defines the Work Location Business Object that will be used when a pin drop is used on the GIS map viewer to specify the work location.
  • Related Esri Layer: The name of the map layer which should be considered for turning on / off the Work Locations layer in the GIS map viewer.
  • Outbound Message Type: Defines the outbound message type that will be used to send supplemental work locations to Esri.
  • Source Version Owner: The owner of the DEFAULT version in the ESRI Geodatabase that is used for sync. If blank, the value is set to DEFAULT.
  • Temp WAM Version: The name of the ArcGIS Server version that is used to track WAM asset updates flowing to GIS.
  • WAM Sync Version: The name of the ArcGIS Server version that is used during version comparison geoprocessing to detect changed features to be synced to WAM.
  • Selected Asset: The color configured here is used to select the WAM mapped assets in the GIS viewer when drawing a graphic using select options within the Asset and Work tabs.
  • Highlighted Asset: The color configured here is used to highlight a particular asset feature on the GIS viewer when hovering over the record item in the results on the Asset and Work tabs.
  • Assets with no Work: The color configured here is used to represent the WAM mapped assets that do not have any linked work.
  • Highlight Related Assets: The color configured here is used to highlight the assets that are associated with an activity record in the Work tab. The related assets for an activity can be highlighted using the Highlight icon, which appears for each of the activity records in Work tab results.
  • Specific Webmaps for Asset Types: Allows for more specific definition of Web Maps based on Asset Type, when you are using multiple webmaps. This is useful when a specific Asset Type can only be displayed on a particular Webmap.
  • Inbound Sync Data Filter Options: Used in conjunction with the GIS to WAM Sync Mapping Extendable Lookup. Controls which functionality is enabled in the extendable lookup. When Skip or No Value is selected, GIS features with matching GIS field/value combination are skipped from synchronization from the GIS system. When Filter Statement Builder is selected, GIS features with matching GIS field/value combination in the Filter Statement Builder section are synchronized to WAM.

Configure the Esri Maps Configuration Record

Esri Maps master configuration objects dictates the map and its position when the GIS viewer is launched from WAM application.
  • Default Map Latitude – The latitude at which Map should be centered. If the latitude is not updated in user characteristics or when user launches the Map viewer for the first time from WAM, the “Default Map Latitude” will be considered to center the map.
  • Default Map Longitude – The longitude at which Map should be centered. If the longitude is not updated in user characteristics or when user launches the Map viewer for the first time, the “Default Map Longitude” will be considered to center the map.
  • Default Map Zoom Extent - The level at which Map should be zoomed to. If the parameter is not updated in user characteristics or when user launches the Map viewer for the first time, the “Default Map Zoom Extent” will be considered to zoom the map and fit the extent. (Ex: 18).
  • Selection Enabled Zoom Extent - The level at which selection will be enabled on the map viewer to select Assets / Work Requests / Activities. If the Map level is less than the number configured in “Selection Enabled Zoom Extent” parameter, the viewer displays a message that the Map selection is not enabled at this level. (Ex: 18).
  • Default Esri Web Map – The web map ID that is configured in the “Esri Web Maps” extendable lookup. This web map will be considered when the embedded GIS viewer is launched from WAM application.
  • Expand Layer – This configuration dictates the Layer symbology expanded on / off when “Layers” widget is clicked from embedded GIS viewer. If the option is chosen to “Yes”, the Layer symbology in the layers widget will be expanded else it will be collapsed. (Ex: Yes).

Valid Map URL Domains: Enter the URLs for Map URL Domains. Choose the Map Source from drop down and enter the URL from which map source should be considered.

  • Search – The parameters defines the service it should look for when address search is initiated from the GIS viewer. Choose “Search” from the Map Source and enter the URL in the “Map URL Domain” (Ex: https://geocode.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/GeocodeServer).
  • Geometry – The parameters defines the service it should look for when geometry operations are initiated from the GIS viewer. Choose “Geometry” from the Map Source and enter the URL in the “Map URL Domain”. (Ex: https:// xxxxxxxxxxxxx/arcgis/rest/services/Utilities/Geometry/GeometryServer).
  • Print – The parameters defines the service it should look for when Print is initiated from the GIS viewer. Choose “Print” from the Map Source and enter the URL in the “Map URL Domain”. (Ex: https:// xxxxxxxxxxxxx/arcgis/rest/services/Utilities/PrintingTools/GPServer/Export%20Web%20Map%20Task).
  • Map Default – The parameters defines the ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Portal url that should be used for default map to be launched in GIS viewer. Choose “Map Default” from the Map Source and enter the URL in the “Map URL Domain” (Ex: https:// xxxxxxxxxxxxx/arcgis/ for ArcGIS Portal; https:// xxxxxxxxxxxxx.maps.arcgis.com/ for ArcGIS Online).
