Creating a Communication Distribution Queue Configuration

Introduction

Communication Distribution Queue in Communication Cloud Services is a framework that determines the routing process of communication details from Communication to Communication Queue. Communication Distribution Queue enables you to associate the Marketing Company and the Communication Queue configuration to confirm consistent distribution.

Prerequisites

Following are the prerequisites to consider before creating a Communication Distribution Queue configuration in Communication Cloud Service:

Ensure that you complete the prerequisites before proceeding.
Prerequisites Details
Set the Config ID Config ID must be Active.

Ensure all dependent configurations and associations are part of the same open Config ID.

Create Entitlements Ensure that you have the required entitlements to create a Communication Queue.
Create Marketing Company configuration Ensure that you have created the Marketing Company configuration that needs to be associated to the Communication Distribution Queue. See Creating Marketing Company for more information.
Create Communication Queue configuration Ensure that you have created the Communication Queue configuration that needs to be associated to the Communication Distribution Queue. See Creating a Communication Queue Configuration for more information.

Creating a Communication Distribution Queue Configuration

To create a Communication Distribution Queue configuration, follow these steps:
  1. Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
  2. From Menu, select Communication.
  3. Under Communication, select Distribution, then select Communication Distribution Queue. This redirects you to the Communication Distribution Queue landing page.
  4. On the Communication Distribution Queue landing page, select Create.
  5. In Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name and Description (optional), to identify the Communication Distribution Queue.
  6. In Marketing Company section, select Add Marketing Company and select the Marketing Company that you want to associate to the Communication Distribution Queue.
  7. In Communication Queue section, select Add Communication Queue and select the Communication Queue configuration that you want to associate to the Communication Distribution Queue.
  8. In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Communication Distribution Queue is created. You can change it to a future date if required.
  9. Select Save to save the details or select Save & Exit to save the details and return to the landing page.

Maintaining a Communication Distribution Queue Configuration

Introduction

You can update or delete Communication Distribution Queue configuration to cater to the changing business needs.

You can delete the Communication Distribution Queue configuration if it is no longer required. It can be deleted only if the Config ID using which it was created is open.

If the initial Config ID used for creating Communication Distribution Queue configuration is closed, and if you want to edit the configuration, see Editing a Configuration after Closing the Config ID.

Editing a Communication Distribution Queue Configuration

You can edit the basic information and Active Date of a Communication Distribution Queue configuration. You can also replace the Marketing Company and Communication Queue configuration.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
  2. From Menu, select Communication.
  3. Under Communication, select Distribution and then select Communication Distribution Queue. This redirects you to the Communication Distribution Queue landing page.
  4. To edit the Communication Distribution Queue configuration, follow either one of these options from the Communication Distribution Queue landing page:
    • From More Menu in Action column of the Communication Distribution Queue configuration, select Edit.
    • From Name column, select the required Communication Distribution Queue configuration name to view its Summary page. Then from Summary page, select Edit.

    This redirects you to the Update Communication Distribution Queue page.

  5. On Update Communication Distribution Queue, modify the Basic Information and Active Date as required.
  6. To replace the Marketing Company, under Marketing Company section, from More Menu in Action column, select Replace. Select a different Marketing Company belonging to the same Config ID.
  7. To replace the Communication Queue configuration, under Communication Queue section, from More Menu in Action column, select Replace. Select a different Communication Queue configuration belonging to the same Config ID.
  8. Select Save to save the changes or Save & Exit to save the details and return to the landing page.

Deleting a Communication Distribution Queue

You can delete a Communication Distribution Queue configuration if it is no longer required. Before deleting the configuration, you must ensure that the initial Config ID used for the configuration creation is open.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
  2. From Menu, select Communication.
  3. Under Communication, select Distribution and then select Communication Distribution Queue. This redirects you to the Communication Distribution Queue landing page.
  4. To delete the Communication Distribution Queue configuration, follow either one of these options from the Communication Distribution Queue landing page:
    • From More Menu in Action column of the respective Communication Distribution Queue configuration, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
    • From More Menu in Action column of the respective Communication Distribution Queue configuration, select Edit. This redirects you to the Update Communication Distribution Queue page. From Actions on the top right corner, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
