Maintaining a Package
Introduction
You can add multiple versions to a Package configuration. This can be done by either adding a child to the Package or adding siblings to the version. Additionally, you can duplicate an existing version to create a new one. You also have the option to delete the Package configuration.
- Editing a Package: Edit a Package's basic information. Replace the Brand Marketing Company if the Config ID is open. Create a new version under the same configuration.
- Editing a Version: Edit the Version along with the Basic Information, Output Title, Output Language, and Active Data, if the Config ID is open. You can also duplicate the existing version and its details, under the same configuration.
- Deleting Package Version: Delete a Version that you are no longer using, if the Config ID is open.
- Deleting a Package: Delete a Package that you are no longer using, if the Config ID is open.
If the initial Config ID used for creating a Package is closed, and if you want to edit the Package, see Editing a Configuration after Closing the Config ID.
Editing a Package
You can modify the basic information of the Package and its associations. You can also add child version under the same configuration.
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Communication and then select Package.
- To edit the Package, follow either one of these options from the Communication Package landing page:
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Package, select Edit.
- From Name column, select the Package name to view its Summary page. Then from Summary page, select Edit. This redirects you to the Update Communication Package page.
- In the Basic Information section modify the Name, Long Name, and Description, if required.
- To replace the Marketing Company, in Brand section, select More Menu under Action column select Replace and select another Marketing Company which belongs to the same Config ID.
- In User Defined Data section, select More Menu under Action, and then select the following:
- To replace the User Defined Data Structure, select Replace, and select another User Defined Data Structure that belongs to the same Config ID.
- To remove the User Defined Data Structure, select Remove.
- To create a new Version, select Actions from the top right corner and then select Add Child. Provide the Version details.
Previewing a Package
You can preview the Package that you have created to produce output in different formats such as, PDF, CSV, HTML,Metadata or JSON. The Preview option is available across the hierarchy of a Package.

You cannot delete a Package that you have already previewed.Note:
The PDF preview of a Communication Package is not displayed while using Google Chrome in emulator mode. See Known Issues for more details.Perform the following steps:
- To create the preview of the Package, follow either one of these options from the Communication Package landing page:
- Select Preview from More Menu in Action column.
- Select the required Package to view its Summary page or from the Summary page, select Edit. Then from Actions, select Preview. You can also preview the package being at any level in the hierarchy.
- In the Create Preview page, under Output Type select the type of output you want to preview. By default, the Effective Date is set to current date. You can modify the date, if required. In Data, paste the data value in JSON format, that is the customer-specific and transactional information required to preview the version configuration.
- Select Preview.
Editing a Version
- In Update Communication Package Version page, update the basic information and Active Date, if required.
- In Output Title section, update the Output Title, if required.
- In Output Language section, update the output language.
- In Association section, select Expand All, select More Menu under Action and then select the following:
- To remove the association, select Remove.
- To edit the association, select Edit. This redirects you to Add Contextual Association(s) to Document(s) page. Select
to modify the following:
- In Rule column, select the right corner of the column, and then select Edit to replace the Rule with another Rule belonging to the same Config ID or select Remove to remove the Rule.
- In User Defined Data Iteration column, select the right corner of the column, and then select Edit to replace the User Defined Data Iteration with another User Defined Data Iteration belonging to the same Config ID or select Remove to remove the User Defined Data Iteration.
- Select
to save the changes or
to discard the changes, then select Continue to save the details.
- To create a sibling Version, select Action from the top right corner, and then select Add Sibling. Provide the Version details.
- To create a duplicate Version, select Actions from the top right corner, and then select Duplicate to Create New Version. Provide the Version details.
Deleting Package Version
To delete the Package Version, it must not be associated to any other configurations. If the Package has only one version and if you delete that version, then the corresponding Package also gets deleted.
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Communication and then select Package. This redirects you to the Communication Package landing page.
- Follow either one of these options from the Communication Package landing page:
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Package, select Edit.
- From Name column, select the Package name to view its Summary page. Then from Summary page, select Edit.
- From the left pane, navigate to the Version you want to delete.
- If there are any associations, remove the association.
- Under Associations section, expand the association.
- From Action, select Remove corresponding to the association.
- On Update Communication Package Version page, from Actions, select Delete.
- In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
Deleting a Package
You can delete a Package if it is no longer required. Before deleting a Package, you must ensure that the initial Config ID used for Package creation is not closed.
Note:
You cannot delete a Package that you have already previewed.To delete a Package, follow the steps below:
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Communication and then select Package. This redirects you to the Communication Package landing page.
- To delete the required Package, follow either one of these options from the Communication Package landing page:
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Package, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Package, select Edit. This redirects you to the Update Communication Package page. From Actions on the top right corner, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
