Creating a Search Category Configuration
Introduction
A Search Category acts as a container to organize and manage search configurations based on specific business needs or use cases. It helps you to group related search statements and configurations, making it easier to maintain. An Operations Company can be associated to only one Search Category. An Operations Company can have an association only to one Search Category.
Prerequisites
Following are the prerequisites to consider before creating a Search Category.

| Set the Config ID |
Config ID must be Active.
Ensure all dependent configurations and associations are part of the same open Config ID. See Creating a Config ID. |
| Configure entitlements | Ensure that you have the required entitlements to create a Search Category.

| Create Operations Company configuration | Ensure that you have created the Operations Company configuration that needs to be associated to the Search Category configuration. |
Creating a Search Category
Creating Search Category involves providing the basic information of the Search Category and associating it to the Operations Company.
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Configuration.
- Under Configuration, select Search, and then select Search Category.
- On the Search Category landing page, select Create.
- In Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name and Description (optional), to identify the Search Category.
- In Search Category section, select Add Operations Company and then select the Operations Company that you want to associate to the Search Category.
- In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Search Category is created. You can modify it to a future date, but you cannot leave it blank.
- Select Save to save the details, or select Save & Exit to save the details and return to the landing page.
Maintaining a Search Category Configuration
Introduction
You can update or delete the Search Category to cater to the changing business needs.
- Editing a Search Category: Edit the Search Category's basic information and Active Date.
- Replacing Operations Company: Replace associated Operations Company if the Config ID is open.
- Deleting a Search Category: Delete a Search Category that you are no longer using, if the Config ID is open.
If the initial Config ID used for creating a Search Category is closed, and if you want to edit the Search Category, see Editing a Configuration after Closing the Config ID.
Editing a Search Category
You can modify the basic information and Active Date of the Search Category.
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Configuration.
- Select Search and then select Search Category. This redirects you to the Search Category landing page.
- To edit the Search Category, select Edit on the landing page.
This redirects you to Update Search Category page.
- On Update Search Category page, modify the details as needed.
- Select Save to save the changes, or select Save & Exit to save the details and return to the landing page.
Replacing Operations Company
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Configuration.
- Select Search and then select Search Category. This redirects you to the Search Category landing page.
- To edit the Search Category, select Edit on the landing page:
This redirects you to Update Search Category page.
- To replace associated Operations Company, under Search Category section, select More Menu from Action and then select Replace.
- Select the Operations Company that you want to replace, and then return to the Update Search Category page.
- Select Save to save the changes, or select Save & Exit to save the details and return to the landing page.
Deleting a Search Category
- the initial Config ID used for Search Category creation is not closed.
- no associations exist with Search Category, Statement, Statement Group.
To delete a Search Category, follow the steps below:
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Configuration.
- Select Search and then select Search Category. This redirects you to the Search Category landing page.
- To delete the required Search Category, follow either one of these options from the Search Category landing page:
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Search Category, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
- From More Menu in Action column of the respective Search Category, select Edit. This redirects you to the Update Search Category page. From Actions on the top right corner, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.
