Managing a Derived Entity

After creating a new Derived Entity, you can perform the following operations from the Derived Entity Summary window:

• View: You can view an existing Derived Entity details at any given point by selecting the Derived Entity and clicking View.

  The View Derived Entity Details window displays the details of the selected Derived Entity definition. The User Info grid at the bottom of the window displays the metadata information about the Derived Entity definition created along with the option to add comments.

• Copy : To create a new Derived Entity based on the existing one, select the Derived Entity and click Copy . Enter the required fields. For more information, see Creating Derived Entity section.
• Delete: To delete a Derived Entity, select the Derived Entity(s) that you want to delete and click Delete.

  Note:

  Delete function permanently removes the Derived Entity from the database. Ensure that you have verified the details as indicated below:

  • A Derived Entity definition marked for deletion is not accessible for other users.
  • The authorizer has to Authorize/Reject every delete action.
    • On authorization, the Derived Entity details are removed.
    • On rejection, the Derived Entity details are reverted to an authorized state.
  • You cannot update Derived Entity details before authorizing/rejecting the deletion.
  • You can delete an unauthorized Derived Entity definition.
